Why Crete? experience, lifestyle, memories
Why organic? natural, pure, superior
Why Domaine Paterianakis? passion, tradition, legend

domaine-paterianakis-logoCrete has the longest wine production history across Europe, over 4000 years! The vine growing in Crete is part of its lifestyle. Only when you visit this discrete island you are going to realize how distinctive is the domestic vilification for each household that holds over the years.

If you opt for healthy, qualitative and 100% environmentally friendly products then organic wines should be your choice! Natural and authentic wines in the production of which there is NO use of chemical or synthetic fertilizers. In other words, no soil, water and atmosphere contamination.

We are a third generation family company, the first in the island of Crete who introduce the organic grape cultivation and one of the few wineries in Greece with a vertical organization of its production process!

We cultivate six unique indigenous and 2 first class international varieties using the latest organic techniques, and we believe that we can inspire through a series of products with a strong personality.

Winetourism

Aspiring to contribute to the efforts for the sustainable development of rural areas by the alternative kind of tourism, and especially wine tourism, within the Domain has been constructed a unit with three luxurious suites that are ready to accommodate the wine tourism audience.

At the Domain there are also offered guide tours around the vineyard and to the total wine production procedure, as well as wine tasting and educational courses at the specially designed places.

Our gates are always open for our exceptional guests that wish to get known with our Domain and to enjoy our wines and the renowned Cretan hospitality.

The Wines

moschato-spinas-2015

Moschato Spinas 2015

Dry White Wine
PGI Crete

The epitome of the aromatic wine in a veritable best-seller from the winemaking team at Domaine Paterianaki in Heraklion, Crete. Explosive floral aromas conquer the nose instantly, while the crisp acidity and the feather-like sensation on the palate make it tremendously refreshing. Perfect to be enjoyed on its own, as an aperitif, or paired with summery salads and risotto and pasta dishes with fresh herbs and spices.
(Ted Lelekas, November 2016)

GRAPE/BLEND:
100% Muscat of Spina

ALC: 11% abv

melissinos-2013

Melissinos 2013

Dry Red Wine
PGI Crete

Syrah seems to be a grape that is particularly suited to hot and dry regions across Greece, and this award-winning Cretan red proves it. It’s intense and spicy in the nose, and rich and long on the palate – all in all a typical and highly enjoyable Syrah of the Southern Mediterranean. Dare to serve it alongside spicy casseroles with a red meat (ideally lamb) base or more exotic dishes like lamb tagine.
