Semeli Mantinia Nasiakos 2017 named among “Wine Champions 2018” by The Wine Society!

Great news for Semeli, one of Greece’s leading wineries! Semeli Mantinia Nasiakos 2017, which is consistently among its most popular, top-selling wines, has received an outstanding international recognition: it was selected among the “Wine Champions 2018” by The Wine Society!

The Wine Society is one of the UK’s leading wine merchants. A co-operative organisation owned solely by its members, it sells only to them and exists for their benefit. Their motto is “Member satisfaction is paramount; maximising profit is not“.

To select the “Wine Champions 2018”, The Wine Society’s buyers undertook a record-breaking 819-wine blind tasting this year. As a result they came up with 50 top wines from all over the world that were voted the “cream of the crop for opening and enjoying now“!

With regard to Semeli Mantinia Nasiakos 2017, The Wine Society’s tasters agreed that it “beautifully captures the lemon and rose-petal bouquet of the Moschofilero grape at its best with a fresh dry palate to match. A natural with Greek-style mezedes or as an aperitif“. Indeed, it’s a wine that, ever since its first commercial appearance, it has been hailed as one of the finest and most typical examples of wines made from the Moschofilero ambassador Greek grape in the PDO region of Mantinia.

All of us at send our warmest congratulations to the winemaking team at Semeli for yet another significant international achievement!
