Tsaoussi is a white-skinned grape variety grown mainly on the Ionian island of Cephalonia. Varietal examples are rare as Tsaoussi is more often blended with other local or international grape varieties adding an aromatic complexity to the blend. It tends to give light to medium-bodied wines, with an expressive aromatic character and flavors that remind of citrus fruits and stone fruits, as well as melon and honey. Tsaoussi wines will pair nicely with cold starters, pasta and light Mediterranean dishes.
