Negoska is a dark skinned variety from Northern Greece (Macedonia), named after the Slavic name for Naoussa. However nowadays it is only grown at the slopes of Mt. Paikos and participates in the blend of PDO Goumenissa wines, complementing Xinomavro.
The production volumes of Negoska are so low that it is hardly ever vinified on its own. Single variety wines are dark coloured, fruity, have mild acidity and soft tannins with a rounded, chocolatey palate.
Negoska is an ideal cheese companion, while it will also complement perfectly pasta dishes in a red meat ragu sauce.
