Fileri is a very old and traditionally vinified variety from Peloponnese, grown in Arkadia, Lakonia, Achaia and Messinia. It belongs to the same family as Moschofilero but has a weaker taste profile. Fileri has a wide variety of clones with different morphologies and technical characteristics i.e. color, maturity, sugar content, acidity and aromas.
The red Fileri gives wines with rich and refined aromas. It is fruity and flowery, with round and playful body, high acidity and low alcoholic content. The dishes that best match Fileri are pasta with white and red sauce, light white cheese and various appetizers.
